idon'tfallthatway

my apologies on the lack of updates these past 2 weeks. i got back into t-town, from portland, on the tuesday. i was supposed to fly back on friday, but decided why not just fly home early since my finals were done? it's been glorious to be in my own plush, downtop, most amazingly comfortable king-sized bed you'll ever sleep in . and more importantly, spend time with my friends and mom! and then have my friends sleep my bed with me...as i am currently doing now.

i know i promised t pictures from the december to remember concerts, but i still have yet to import them onto my computer. soon, folks, soon!

wuzzup cool cats? my apologies in the delay of new posts. it's been a crazy week. i went to see 6 shows this week AND finals start tomorrow...so...as you can probably guess, not too much sleep. totally worth it though. the shows were AWESOME. i saw 1776, the kooks, young the giant, david bazan, apache relay, and mumford & sons. i'll post some photos in the next couple of days.

to anyone else dealing with finals this/next week: GOODLUCK friends.

therapture

song: "echoes"

song: "don gon do it"

song: "how deep is your love"

meet the rapture. a super funky-postpunk band originally formed in 1998 out of san francisco, and now currently based in new york. if their tunes don't make you want to dance, then you mustn't have a soul. their fourth album was released earlier this fall following a five year hiatus during which the lead singer, luke jenner, attended church regularly and sang in its choir. jenner's ecclesiastical experiences influenced his songwriting and such songs as the first single “how deep is your love?” (see song listed above) were his interpretation of gospel music. to read more on the rapture, visit this sweet awesome site.

gobblegobble

everything is a bit more peaceful above the clouds.

my apologies for the lack of posts the past couple of days. i know everyone's probably been on edge just waiting for a new post (everyone as in the crazy amount of people that this blog is wracking in). i flew home for thanksgiving as a surprise visit *my mom didn't know i was coming home...mwahaha*, and then reaped all the benefits of being at home for a couple of days (i.e. eating a meal, whether home cooked or not, that consisted of more than only cheese/OJ/special k/fruit/bread/almonds/etc., laundry done for free-- i haven't been able to experience that 'take your laundry home for the weekend to let mom do it for free' feeling since i live across the country, and most importantly: my friends, mom, and cat!)

i hope all the good'ol USofA'ers out there had a lovely turkey/tofurkey day! a day filled with food that no one actually eats because they've been craving a big plate of dry turkey, stuffing, and more freaking pumpkin pie than anyone knows what to do with, but because it's tradition, and then inevitably followed by the 'i'm pretty sure i just gained at least 5 pounds from that meal' feeling, all wrapped in dysfunctional/crazy family time, and to be followed by the most anticipatied nap of the year.

and lastly, more power to anyone that braved waking up at 3 a.m. to go black friday shopping. i hope you're enjoying your 100" flatscreen tv that you got at walmart for the low-holiday price of just your diginity, a black eye, and most likely, some sort of broken bone. (okay...okay... maybe i'm exaggerating, and a bit off. it was actually a 105", wasn't it? i'm sorry. you are nuts.)

oberhofer

song: "away FRM you"

song: "i could go"

"Up-and-coming lo-fi pop songsmith Brad Oberhofer is not even drinking age, but he’s already been earningquite a reputation in the indie-rock circuit. Seriously his biggest single “Away FRM U” was nearly unavoidable last year. From the “Ooh Ooh’s” to the whistling hooks there’s a lot about it to love."

to read the complete interview with brad check out this site or his bio here. and in the meantime, listen to the sweet sounds of the band oberhofer...enjoy.
